Step-by-Step Guide

How to sell on UrgentSalesNG?

1

Create your account: Sign up with your phone number or e-mail. Use a number you actually answer, because that is where buyers will reach you.

2

Photograph the item: Daylight, plain background, several angles. Show any scratch or dent honestly. A listing with one blurry photo gets scrolled past.

3

Post it: Pick a category, set your asking price and what the item is worth new, then choose your state and area. Buyers see the saving side by side.

4

Reply fast: Urgent sales run on speed. The items that clear same day are almost always the ones where the seller answered within the hour.

What buyers see

Samsung 55 inch smart TV, relocating
Barely used, boxed remote, no scratches.
Lekki, Lagos Fairly used
₦185,000 ₦320,000

The two prices are the whole product. Set the second one honestly and the first one sells itself.

Buyer Guide

How to buy on UrgentSalesNG?

Search for what you need, then narrow it by category and by where you are. Everything on the marketplace is being sold in a hurry, so the price you see is already below what the item is worth.

1

Filter to your state: Set your location first. Collection is usually in person, so a great price four states away is not a great price.

2

Read the whole listing: Condition, reason for selling, and every photo. Ask about anything the photos do not show.

3

Reserve it: Tell the seller you are coming so the item is held for you instead of going to whoever calls next.

4

Inspect, then pay: See it, test it, and only then hand over money.

Move quickly, but never skip the inspection. A distress price is not a reason to pay before you have seen the item.

For decluttering

Clearing a whole room? Post a bundle.

Relocating, moving out of a flat, or just clearing out years of things you no longer use. Listing twenty items one at a time is the reason most people never get round to it. A bundle is one listing that holds all of them.

1

Add every item once: Name, photo and price for each thing in the bundle. Add them as you pack.

2

Price the lot: Set one price for everything together, below the sum of the parts. That discount is what gets the whole room taken in a single trip.

3

Allow single items, or do not: Let buyers pick out one piece if you want the flexibility, or hold firm and sell it as one lot.

Best for house moves, office clearances, hostel clear-outs and anyone leaving the country on short notice.

One trip, one payment, one conversation. The flat is empty by the weekend.

Trade safely

Safety first

Today, money changes hands directly between you and the other person. That keeps things simple, and it means the basics matter.

Meet somewhere public: A mall, a filling station, a busy street in daylight. For furniture and appliances, bring someone with you.

See it working before you pay: Plug in the appliance. Start the car. Open the laptop. Never pay a deposit to hold something you have not seen.

Keep the conversation on record: Agree the price and the condition in writing before you travel.

Report anything that feels off: Mail hello@urgentsalesng.com and we will look at the listing.

A price far below everything else on the page is worth a second look, not a faster transfer.

Buyer protection

Coming soon

We are building reserve and confirm. Your payment is held while you go and inspect the item, and it is only released to the seller after you confirm you have it. If the item is not what the listing said, you get your money back.

1 Buyer reserves and pays into holding
2 Buyer inspects and collects the item
3 Buyer confirms, seller is paid

Not live yet. It needs a licensed payment partner to hold funds, and we will not switch it on until that is properly in place. Until then, inspect before you pay.

UrgentSalesNG does not hold your money today. Every payment happens between you and the other person, so treat every deal the way you would treat one arranged by phone.

Advanced Seller

Sell like a pro!

Two sellers can list the same item at the same price and one clears it in a day while the other is still waiting a fortnight later. The difference is almost never luck.

1

Lead with your best photo: The first image is the only thing most buyers ever see of your listing. Shoot it in daylight against a plain wall.

2

Say why you are selling: Relocating, upgrading, closing the shop. A believable reason is the single strongest thing in a distress listing.

3

Declare the flaws yourself: The scratch you mention costs you nothing. The scratch a buyer finds on arrival costs you the sale.

4

Boost it: Push your listing to the top of the page, either across your state or right across Nigeria, for as long as you need the sale to happen.

Boosted

Boosts are bought by the day from your dashboard, so you only pay for the window in which you actually need the sale.
